PitchData Index

A rating you can audit.

The PitchData rating is a live, season-long score out of 10. It compares a player's per-90 output with other CPL players in the same position, then weights the parts of the game that matter most for that role.

What goes into it

Attack

Goals, shots on target, total shots, successful dribbles, box touches and big chances converted.

Creativity

Assists, key passes, big chances created, progressive carries and fouls won.

Possession

Pass accuracy, completed passes, progressive carries and ball retention.

Defending

Tackles, interceptions, recoveries, clearances, duel success and aerial success.

Discipline

Fouls and cards, normalized per 90 minutes.

Goalkeeping

Saves per 90, save percentage, goals conceded, distribution and discipline.

Sample-size protection

Players need 270 minutes to enter the official leaderboard. Before 720 minutes, extreme scores are gradually pulled toward league average, so a single cameo cannot outrank a full body of work. Every player still receives a provisional rating on their profile.

Ratings refresh with the official CPL statistical feed. They measure on-field output, not reputation, salary or betting-market opinion.
